Overview: Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking a dedicated Account Specialist to enhance our operations. In this position, you will leverage your skills in planning, executing, and managing targeted marketing initiatives within the industry. Your consultative selling approach will be essential as you engage with engineers, maintenance personnel, and purchasing agents to understand their specific applications and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily reviews and processing of assigned requisitions.
  • Enter data into AIT's and customer systems for quotes, purchase orders, and to manage blanket purchase orders.
  • Assess and address changes in part numbers through the MSSR function, collaborating with customers for necessary approvals before material receipt.
  • Identify and eliminate duplicate stock codes or products.
  • Maintain lead times for items in the forecast.
  • Coordinate with service centers to gather information on weekly backlogs and overdue reports.
  • Work with service centers and clients to expedite order fulfillment.
  • Provide assistance in product sourcing and actively pursue items within our supply range.
  • Resolve specific issues related to notifications.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff and service centers to address receiving challenges.
  • Monitor and manage all product warranty issues in conjunction with the service center.
  • Document and track cost savings achieved for our customers.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, sales, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated success in developing new business, fostering repeat business, and managing a sales territory.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with customers and prospective organizations.
  • Ability to conduct hands-on product demonstrations; mechanical aptitude is a plus.
  • A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in fields related to Applied products such as bearings, power transmission components, fluid power, and general industrial supplies.

  • Self-motivated and proactive, willing to tackle various tasks to achieve objectives.
