KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Client Services Associate plays a vital role in enhancing and nurturing existing client relationships while establishing new ones. This position involves addressing all service-related inquiries, processing new account transactions, and guiding clients in selecting suitable accounts and financial services. The role also includes promoting the Bank's products and services through exceptional customer service and performing various clerical tasks as required.

The incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Conducting client interviews to gather necessary information and verify the identification of new clients while assessing their needs.
  • Assisting clients in choosing from the range of accounts, products, and financial services offered by the Bank.
  • Identifying cross-selling opportunities by employing effective sales techniques.
  • Making informed decisions regarding the opening of new accounts, including assigning account numbers, completing necessary forms, checking credit histories, and accepting initial deposits.
  • Issuing temporary checks for clients until their ordered checks arrive, ensuring accuracy in client information.
  • Representing the Bank at various community and civic events to enhance its image and develop new business opportunities.
  • Delivering outstanding customer service by addressing client inquiries, investigating and rectifying errors, and resolving issues.
  • Issuing official checks as required.
  • Handling safe deposit duties, including account openings, access control, and processing related reports.
  • Managing stop payment and hold orders.
  • Presenting funds received from clients to the teller for initial deposits, determining fund availability, and providing receipts.
  • Processing credit reports, wire transfers, credit card applications, address changes, and endorsement stamp orders.
  • Answering phone calls and directing them to the appropriate Bank personnel.
  • Managing debit card applications, card ordering, and file maintenance.
  • Training less experienced branch staff.
  • Preparing routine correspondence, reports, and forms.
  • Assisting with Teller duties as necessary.
  • Utilizing computer systems to process account activities, determine balances, and resolve issues within authorized limits.
  • Maintaining familiarity with all compliance regulations and policies relevant to this position and ensuring adherence to them.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least six months of customer service experience in a Teller role.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Understanding of federal and state consumer compliance laws.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret various financial data.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Good data entry and mathematical skills.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment for this position primarily include:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting.
  • Frequent typing using a keyboard and/or calculator.
  • Occasional lifting of office files or equipment weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • A standard office environment with comfortable temperatures and low noise levels.
