Key Responsibilities

We are on the lookout for a Quality Assurance/Quality Control Specialist who is enthusiastic, a collaborative team player, eager to learn, and passionate about the food manufacturing sector. The primary duties will involve ensuring compliance with quality and food safety standards for food, beverages, ingredients, and supplies produced and packaged by our partners through document verification and regular facility inspections. This role includes developing a risk-based electronic and physical audit framework in conjunction with the QA/QC team and engaging in projects aimed at refining our safety and quality evaluation processes.

  • Lead the supplier approval initiative at Tasty Brands SK's co-manufacturing and co-packaging facilities to ensure adherence to QA/QC policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with various departments on all facets of product launch and compliance verification, including sourcing, production, facility safety, training, and materials management.
  • Plan, execute, and assess projects while upholding food safety and regulatory standards pertinent to menu development.
  • Assist in product development brainstorming sessions for brand tastings.
  • Establish safety compliance benchmarks for new and existing products utilizing laboratory resources (shelf life, microbiological analysis, storage guidelines, etc.).
  • Address technical safety concerns and feedback arising during product development, production, handling, or performance.
  • Timely documentation of audit reports and follow-up actions to promote risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC to formulate programs and strategies aimed at minimizing product risks.
Required Skills
  • 3-5 years of experience in food production and processing; comprehensive understanding of food safety standards, HAACP, and Serve Safe Certification; foundational culinary knowledge related to equipment and technical skills.
  • Experience in auditing or consulting, or familiarity with these processes (Department of Health audits, FSSC, AIB, etc.).
  • Proven leadership capabilities, with a track record of influencing and driving positive change across multiple organizations and levels.
  • Strong proactive mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities and risks early and take appropriate actions.
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and passionate about auditing.
  • Ability to work independently and travel up to 40% of the time.
  • Understanding of production equipment and processing services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
