Job Summary

Whitsons Culinary Group is seeking a skilled Food Service Worker to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food service operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and store incoming supplies to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Adhere to assigned break schedules to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Collect and strip trays for dishwashing and participate in ware washing duties as assigned.
  • Store and maintain silverware, dishes, glasses, cups, pots, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings to promote a safe working environment.
  • Attend all mandatory in-service programs to stay up-to-date on company policies and procedures.
  • Manage point-of-sale (POS) and cash handling duties as applicable to the position.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all Whitsons policies and procedures at all times.
  • Support the company's goals, objectives, and mission statement.
  • Comply with all requirements of the mandated food handling certification program.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must complete all Whitsons and other mandated training as necessary.
  • Ability to speak and read English to understand and perform job assignments.
  • 1 year of professional food service experience preferred.
  • Always present a positive and professional image.
Physical Demands
  • Frequently required to sit, walk, talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Standing on feet for the majority of the workday, with occasional walking and movement in and out of store rooms and freezers.
  • Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, with occasional lifting while turning side to side.
  • Close vision and ability to adjust focus required.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed primarily in the kitchen and on the serving line.
  • Standing most of the workday, with exposure to extreme temperatures due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.
  • Moderate to loud noise level in the work area.
