Role Summary:

We are in need of a Quality Assurance/Quality Control Specialist who is motivated, a team player, eager to learn, and passionate about food within the constantly evolving manufacturing sector. Key responsibilities will involve ensuring that quality and food safety standards are upheld for food, beverages, ingredients, and supply items produced and packaged by our partners through documentation verification and regular facility inspections. This includes the development of a risk-based electronic and physical audit framework in collaboration with the QA/QC team, as well as engaging in projects aimed at enhancing our safety and quality evaluation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the supplier approval initiative at Tasty Brands SK's co-manufacturing and co-packaging sites to ensure adherence to QA/QC policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with various departments on all aspects of product launches and compliance assessments, including sourcing, production runs, facility safety, training, and materials.
  • Plan, execute, and assess projects while ensuring compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements pertinent to menu development.
  • Assist in product development brainstorming sessions for individual brand tastings.
  • Establish safety compliance benchmarks for new and/or existing products using laboratory resources (shelf life, microbiological analysis markers, storage guidelines, etc.).
  • Address technical safety concerns and feedback regarding complaints/comments that arise during the development, production, handling, or performance of products.
  • Document audit findings promptly and follow up to promote risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC to devise programs and strategies aimed at minimizing product risks.

Required Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in food production and processing; comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards, HAACP, and Serve Safe Certification; basic culinary knowledge related to equipment and technical skills.

  • Experience in auditing/consulting or familiarity with these processes (Department of Health audits, FSSC, AIB, etc.).
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a proven track record of influencing and driving positive change across various organizations and levels.
  • Strong inclination towards action, with the ability to identify opportunities/risks early and take appropriate measures.
  • Highly organized and self-driven, with a passion for auditing.
  • Ability to work independently and travel up to 40% of the time (nationwide).
  • Understanding of production equipment and processing services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
