About the Role

The Human Resources Administrator is an entry-level position that supports the HR Director by handling a variety of administrative and HR responsibilities. This is an on-site position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handles pre-employment process for new hires, including background checks and onboarding procedures.
  • Conducts new hire orientations and creates new hire folders with all required documentation.
  • Handles all new hire reporting, including updating HR systems and maintaining accurate records.
  • Creates ID badges and time cards for new employees.
  • Maintains personnel files for all Union employees, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Tracks attendance and reports any issues to management.
  • Provides support with employee relations, including answering questions and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Acts as Secretary for the Safety Committee, coordinating meetings and distributing materials.
  • Conducts monthly Safety Toolbox talks, distributing materials and tracking completion of the safety program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the HR Director.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience and HR certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and other relevant software.
