Role Summary: The Tenant Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in the effective management of housing services. This position requires collaboration and communication with various stakeholders to ensure the maintenance of stable housing for the individuals served. Key Responsibilities

Direct Support Functions:

  • Act as a liaison with relevant health and opportunity agencies.
  • Adhere to funding guidelines regarding service delivery, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Acquire and impart knowledge of best practices in housing services for diverse populations.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of leasing regulations, including HUD Section 8 and Fair Housing laws.
  • Respond to tenant and property manager inquiries within a 24-hour timeframe.
  • Coordinate with CSS staff on care levels and necessary updates.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with assigned property managers.
  • Identify and address concerns raised by property managers.
  • Provide pre-tenancy support, reviewing housing history, income, and potential barriers to housing stability.
  • During the move-in process, collaborate with the service team to ensure understanding of lease agreements and responsibilities.
  • Deliver housing stabilization services to support individuals in maintaining permanent housing.
  • Assist clients in accessing and retaining entitlement benefits.
  • Facilitate service referrals and coordinate with other providers to prevent service duplication.
  • Establish and maintain tracking systems for required information.
  • Advocate for participants with landlords and community service providers.
  • Support participants in fulfilling tenant obligations.
  • Maintain regular communication with landlords to preemptively address issues.
  • Keep accurate program records.
  • Ensure clients can access after-hours support for emergencies.

Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Participate in staff meetings and service coordination planning.
  • Engage in individual and group supervision sessions.
  • Attend mandatory organizational meetings and perform assigned office tasks.
  • Report any instances of abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities.
  • Immediately inform supervisors of any concerning mental health statuses.
  • Provide support for other team members as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties as assigned to enhance consumer care and uphold the organization's values.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a human services field (e.g., social work, psychology) with three years of relevant experience.
  • Master's Degree preferred with one year of experience in residential or supported housing.
  • CPRP certification is a plus.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of two years in providing direct or supervisory housing services for individuals in mental health recovery.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with data entry and Electronic Health Records.

Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Clearances from state police, child abuse, and FBI.
Working Conditions

The Tenant Services Coordinator will engage with participants and team members in various community settings, which may involve using public transportation and walking in different weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

The role requires mobility to visit participant residences and the ability to carry necessary work items. The following physical capabilities are essential:

  • Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
  • Capability to stand, walk, use hands, climb, communicate, and see effectively.

Direct Reports: The Tenant Services Coordinator is supervised by the Lead Tenant Services Coordinator, who reports to the Program Director.
