Chief Underwriter National Accounts Group Benefits

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Underwriter National Accounts Group Benefits to join our team at The Hartford. As a key member of our National Accounts Group, you will be responsible for the overall management of Group Life and Disability underwriting for National Accounts, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the underwriting process for Group Life and Disability policies, ensuring accurate and timely issuance of policies and effective management of risk.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including sales representatives, brokers, and other business partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements, drive business growth, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in underwriting, and apply this knowledge to inform business decisions and drive innovation.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior underwriters, promoting professional development and growth within the team.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, finance, or insurance.
- 5+ years of experience in Group Benefits underwriting, with a strong track record of success in managing complex underwriting relationships and driving business growth.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A competitive salary range of $88,080 - $144,120, depending on experience.
