Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Identify New Business Opportunities

As a Sales Director at Toll Group, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities through contact with prospective clients in the assigned market and for cross-selling new services to existing clients.

  1. Market Trends and Competitive Analysis

You will be responsible for identifying market trends and competitive rate actions and communicating those trends to the product and management teams.

  1. Client Lifecycle Program

Exercises proactive solution development by creating and maintaining a client lifecycle program for his/her top clients. Build a solid understanding of target customers/assigned account base (contact, commodities/trade lanes, type of business, contract information/exceptions, and service requirements).

  1. RFQs and Bids

Assists and facilitates the preparation of RFQ's and bids.

  1. Continuous Improvement

Identifies the competitive service strengths and weaknesses of the company and makes recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives.

  1. Performance Metrics

Provides weekly and monthly performance metrics to the sales administrator.

  1. Pricing and Cost Components

Understands pricing and cost components associated with proposed solutions.

  1. Additional Responsibilities

Performs other duties including sales presentations, developing deliverables, coordinating implementation, creating and adding to existing marketing materials where appropriate.

  1. CRM and Sales Data

Enters new customer data and other sales data for clients into Toll CRM and maintains this information per company policy.

  1. Volume and Revenue Requirements

Meets specific volume and revenue requirements for each product in the Toll portfolio as designated by the SVP, Sales.

  1. Time Management and Sales Territory

Manages time and sales territory to be able to reach the desired number of sales calls (10) on a weekly basis ensuring maximum Toll exposure to the market.

  1. Effective Response to Sales Leads

Ensures effective and timely response to all sales leads/key correspondence within identified timelines.

  1. Expense Management

Manages expenses and other company assets in accordance with corporate guidelines.

  1. Additional Duties

Performs other duties as assigned by management.

  1. Compliance and Quality

Complies to the Toll Global Forwarding Business Improvement Programme Quality, Risk and Human Resource Reference Manuals and the Toll Workplace Standards and Code of Conduct and the GF Employee Handbook.

  1. Travel Requirements

Travel required (50% by car and 5% by air).

Physical Demands

This position is generally sedentary in nature; involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

  1. Bachelor's Degree

Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.

  1. Minimum Experience

Minimum of five (5) years' experience in Sales/Business Development.

  1. Valid Driver's License

Valid driver's license required.

  1. Understanding of US Customs / Import Requirements

Understanding of US Customs / Import Requirements.

Value-based solution selling incorporating Ocean/Air freight / Customs Brokerage / Warehousing & Distribution services highly preferred.
