About the Department:

The Department of Computer Science comprises a diverse group of 25 teaching-track faculty and 56 tenured and tenure-track faculty members, all engaged in a variety of research domains including cybersecurity, systems and networks, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and more. The department has experienced significant growth, with enrollment soaring from 550 undergraduates in 2012 to over 2,400 currently. Additionally, there are over 200 PhD candidates and more than 1,150 Masters students enrolled across four MS programs. The department boasts around $5 million in annual research funding and has numerous faculty members recognized with prestigious awards.

About the Position:

The Department of Computer Science is seeking applications for several term faculty roles commencing in the upcoming academic year.

Candidates will be responsible for teaching and developing both undergraduate and graduate courses, engaging in university and departmental governance, advising students, and fulfilling related instructional duties such as supervising senior projects and internships.

Applicants for the rank of Associate or Full Professor should demonstrate a commitment to outreach, curriculum development, and possess substantial teaching experience in an academic environment for a minimum of six years post-Ph.D.

Responsibilities:

Teaching: Deliver courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels; Service: Advise students, contribute to the department's mission, and engage with the professional community.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates for the Assistant/Associate or Full Professor roles must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field; those with a Ph.D. in other disciplines should have a robust publication record in Computer Science. Applicants with an MS in Computer Science or a related field by the position's start date will be considered for Instructor roles. A demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching and excellence in education is essential. Candidates at the Associate or Full Professor level must have interests in outreach and curriculum development, along with significant teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

All candidates across various computer science disciplines will be considered. Preference will be given to those with a Ph.D., teaching experience, and a strong record of peer-reviewed publications. Administrative experience is advantageous. Candidates who can foster collaborations across departments will benefit from the institution's support for interdisciplinary initiatives.
