About the Department:

The Department of Statistics consists of a dedicated team of faculty members, offering a comprehensive range of degree programs including a B.S. in Statistics, a Ph.D. in Statistical Science, and M.S. degrees in Statistical Science and Biostatistics. Established in 1992, the department has rapidly advanced in research and scholarship, with faculty recognized nationally and internationally in statistics, biostatistics, data science, and artificial intelligence. About the Position:

The Department of Statistics is seeking qualified candidates for multiple term faculty roles starting in the upcoming academic year.

Candidates will be responsible for teaching and developing courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, engaging in departmental governance, advising students, and fulfilling related instructional duties. Research activities are optional.

Applicants for the rank of Associate or Full Professor should possess a strong background in outreach and curriculum development, with a minimum of six years of teaching experience post-Ph.D.

Responsibilities:

Delivering instruction at undergraduate and/or graduate levels; Contributing to departmental service and operational functions; Advising students effectively.

Senior candidates are expected to lead in curriculum innovation and outreach initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Statistics or a closely related field, such as Data Science or Biostatistics, by the position start date. A demonstrated commitment to education and excellence in teaching is essential. Candidates for Associate/Full Professor must have significant outreach and curriculum development experience in an academic environment for at least six years post-Ph.D. Exceptional candidates with an MS in Statistics or Biostatistics and a strong teaching record may be considered for an instructor position.

Preferred Qualifications:

All areas of Statistics will be considered, with a particular interest in candidates experienced in data science and modern statistical methodologies. Preference will be given to those with substantial teaching experience and strong communication skills. Research capability, funding acquisition, and experience in administration or consulting will be advantageous. The ability to foster collaborations across departments is also valued.
