PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Contributes to the formulation and assessment of financial and regulatory documents mandated by various oversight bodies and governmental institutions.
  • Supports the generation and evaluation of financial and managerial reports intended for internal stakeholders.
  • Participates in the daily accounting oversight and month-end closing activities, ensuring the integrity of the organization’s general ledger accounts.
  • Aids in the design, execution, and upkeep of accounting frameworks that adhere to GAAP, tax obligations, banking regulations, and management standards.
  • Facilitates the organization and preparation for audits and reviews conducted by external auditors and regulators, including assistance with all pertinent tax submissions.
  • Provides written and verbal guidance regarding accounting procedures to both the accounting team and other departments that influence accounting operations.
  • Engages in departmental initiatives such as the annual budgeting process and branch profitability assessments.
  • Assists in refining departmental workflows, establishing work schedules, and enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Contributes to the creation of SEC disclosures and the implementation of updates related to FASB ASUs.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
  • Analyzes and standardizes processes to enhance the productivity of team members.
  • Keeps current desk procedures for assigned responsibilities.
  • Performs various tasks within the accounting department as required.
  • Participates in training programs and achieves satisfactory results.
  • Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
  • Regular interaction with supervisors to receive guidance and clarification on existing and new accounting protocols.
  • Daily collaboration with colleagues and other departments, providing support and coordination for accounting-related tasks.
  • Occasional communication with Internal Auditors to ensure compliance with company accounting practices and relevant government regulations.
  • Intermittent engagement with professionals from various fields, including representatives from government agencies, accounting firms, and other financial entities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • CPA certification and banking experience are preferred but not mandatory.
  • 3-4 years of relevant professional experience.
SKILLS:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical guidelines, or governmental regulations.
  • Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Capable of effectively presenting information and addressing inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Competent in mathematical concepts such as algebra, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Adept at applying concepts such as interest accruals, discounts, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world scenarios.
  • Skilled in resolving practical issues and managing a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled formats.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to apply knowledge and experience to yield results that may not be immediately evident.
  • Effective collaboration as part of a team and the ability to work independently.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

This position necessitates a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulatory standards. Basic proficiency in the use of computers and office equipment is required, along with the ability to format spreadsheets (e.g., sorting, pivot tables) and develop formulas (e.g., v-lookup, conditional statements) in Excel, as well as intermediate skills in Word. Experience with database queries is preferred. Proficiency in ten-key by touch is essential. The ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment is crucial. This role requires successful collaboration with team members to optimize productivity. Extensive knowledge and understanding of US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and internal controls are necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively via phone, video, messaging, and email. The employee must utilize computer and office equipment, including computers, printers, and copiers, as well as software such as Microsoft Office. Frequent periods of workstation occupancy for extended durations may be required.
