Job Title: Business Development Representative

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative to join our team at POOLCORP. As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for identifying and negotiating strategic relationships with current customers and developing new business relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prospect for potential new clients within our target market, including pool and spa retailers, pool builders, and pool and spa maintenance firms.
  • Cold call on and market to prospective clients to build relationships and identify sales opportunities.
  • Follow up and qualify sales leads to ensure timely and effective communication with customers.
  • Make professional presentations on products and programs to customers and prospects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customer personnel to build trust and loyalty.
  • Identify client needs and provide quotes and product data as needed.
  • Closes sales and follows through to ensure appropriate delivery.
  • Support Operations and A/R efforts to ensure seamless execution of sales and business development activities.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in professional-level business-to-business sales.
  • A proven track record of successful sales in a wholesale environment.
  • Ability to cold call on prospective clients and build relationships.
  • A strong knowledge of one or more of the following product lines: pool-related equipment, plumbing supplies, tile, decking, exterior lighting, patio furniture, construction materials, building supplies, chemicals, landscaping/irrigation supplies, HVAC supplies, or similar tangible goods.
  • Holds a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to travel within a designated area.
  • Occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office WORD and EXCEL.
  • Knowledge of AMP or similar customer management system preferred.
  • Knowledge of Prelude or similar inventory control software helpful.
