We are in search of a Lead Cost Estimator for Architectural Projects focusing on airports and substantial construction endeavors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with clients to clarify estimation expectations, encompassing Phasing, Options, Alternates, and Schedules. Grasping the various levels of estimates, from a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) to a fully developed design estimate.
  • Overseeing a team of specialists to compile estimates in clear and structured formats tailored to client requirements, which includes conducting pricing research across regional and global contexts, formulating unit prices, evaluating global project components, cataloging and sharing quantity takeoffs, making defensible project assumptions, and generating project reports.
  • Calculating costs by constructing cost assemblies, including current pricing. Responsible for maintaining cost and assembly databases, ensuring data consistency, keeping information current, and providing accessibility for staff throughout the organization.
  • Delivering high-quality outputs and supervising the quality of outputs produced by others, working with both detailed design and planning-level documents. Leading quality management reviews for Connico's deliverables.
  • Mentoring team members on both technical and non-technical subjects, disseminating knowledge within the company, and establishing yourself as a field expert.
  • Fostering client relationships through regular interactions, both project-related and otherwise. Building a client network that recognizes you as an authority in the industry.
  • Leading and managing an internal team to meet project objectives, including timely delivery of outputs, producing reports that align with Connico's core values and high-quality standards, utilizing and training other Connico personnel, communicating project changes or challenges to the organization, and ensuring projects remain within budget. Being fully accountable for the relevant Connico projects.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary, including attendance at conferences, client meetings, project sites, or other company locations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Estimating, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of estimating experience across diverse market segments, or equivalent expertise.
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, with a solid understanding of estimation expectations, including Phasing, Options, Alternates, and schedules. Proficient in distinguishing between different levels of estimates from a ROM to a 100% Design estimate.
  • Ability to interpret comprehensive plans and specifications across all project disciplines—architectural, civil, and engineering—at both high design levels and planning stages. Competence in interpreting quantity takeoffs and models, as well as architectural and engineering reports.
  • Demonstrated success in managing, leading, and creating estimates for large commercial or government projects, including responsibility for deliverable timelines, budget management, integrating elements from various divisions, and professionally engaging with clients.
  • Proficiency in estimating across multiple formats, including familiarity with CSI Master format, CSI Uniformat, and knowledge of standard estimating terminology.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and relevant estimating software (On-Screen Takeoff, MII, or Success).
  • Certifications such as CCP, CPE, RICS, CEP are advantageous.
  • Experience in the aviation sector is preferred but not mandatory.


Connico provides a comprehensive compensation package that includes a competitive salary starting at $140K+, along with bonus opportunities and ongoing professional development. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
