We are currently looking for a Lead Architectural Cost Estimator to work on airport and other substantial construction endeavors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with clients to grasp their estimation expectations, including Phasing, Options, Alternates, and Schedules. Understanding the various levels of estimates, from a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) to a fully developed design estimate.
  • Overseeing a team of specialists to compile estimates in clear and precise formats tailored to client requirements, including conducting pricing research based on both regional and global contexts.
  • Creating unit prices, evaluating and addressing global project components, conducting and cataloging quantity takeoffs, making defensible project assumptions, documenting them, and generating project reports.
  • Determining costs by assembling cost structures, including current expenses. Responsible for maintaining cost and assembly databases, ensuring consistency, keeping data current, and ensuring accessibility for staff across the organization.
  • Delivering high-quality outputs and supervising the quality of work produced by others, collaborating with both detailed design and planning-level or ROM-level documents.
  • Leading quality management reviews for Connico's deliverables.
  • Mentoring others on both technical and non-technical subjects, sharing knowledge throughout the organization, and establishing yourself as an authority in the field.
  • Fostering client relationships through regular interactions, both on projects and in other contexts. Building a client base that recognizes you as an expert in the industry.
  • Leading and managing an internal team to meet project objectives, including timely delivery of outputs, producing reports that align with Connico's core values and high quality standards, utilizing and training other Connico personnel, communicating project changes or challenges to the organization, and ensuring projects remain within budget. Taking full accountability for the relevant Connico projects.
  • Willingness to travel may be necessary, including attending conferences, visiting client offices, project sites, or other company locations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Estimating, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of estimating experience across diverse market segments, or equivalent expertise.
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, with a solid understanding of estimation expectations, including Phasing, Options, Alternates, and schedules. Familiarity with the various levels of estimates from a ROM to a 100% Design estimate.
  • Ability to interpret comprehensive plans and specifications across all disciplines involved in the project—architectural, civil, and engineering—at both high design levels and planning stages. Capability to interpret quantity takeoffs and models, as well as architectural and engineering reports.
  • Demonstrated success in managing, leading, and creating estimates for large commercial or government projects, including accountability for deliverable timelines, budget management, integrating elements from multiple divisions, and effectively communicating with clients.
  • Proficiency in estimating across various formats, including familiarity with CSI Master format, CSI Uniformat, and knowledge of standard terminology in estimating.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and related estimating software (On-Screen Takeoff, MII, or Success) is required.
  • Certifications such as CCP, CPE, RICS, CEP are preferred.
  • Experience in the aviation sector is advantageous but not mandatory.


Connico provides a comprehensive compensation package, including a competitive salary starting at $140K+, along with bonus opportunities and ongoing growth prospects. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
