Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the successful execution of the design and construction teams' objectives in alignment with Great Parks' strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Oversee and validate the work produced by architectural, engineering, and surveying firms, including the review of construction drawings and specifications for various park structures.
  • Develop comprehensive construction plans, technical specifications, and accurate cost estimates.
  • Maintain effective communication and manage relationships with project stakeholders, addressing their concerns in line with organizational goals.
  • Ensure that all design and construction activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, securing necessary permits and approvals.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with safety, budget, and project timelines in collaboration with division leadership.
  • Support the construction team during project phases by providing design clarifications and assisting with on-site observations and quality assurance.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and progress reports, in accordance with agency standards.
  • Assist in the review and approval of agreements and permits related to construction activities impacting park district interests.
  • Manage development budgets, including processing purchase orders and approving vendor invoices.
  • Oversee critical infrastructure, ensuring organized records and maintenance programs are in place.
  • Conduct regular inspections and coordinate maintenance for assigned infrastructure categories.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contractors to ensure compliance with industry standards during maintenance and repair activities.
  • Develop training programs for staff involved in inspections and maintenance tasks.
  • Provide recommendations for infrastructure repair, rehabilitation, or replacement based on inspection findings.
  • Assist in implementing the Comprehensive Master Plan by preparing multi-year renovation plans for infrastructure.
  • Consult with division leadership on regulatory and technical matters related to park development projects.
  • Provide technical guidance related to architectural practices.
  • Complete special assignments as directed by division leadership.
  • Exhibit regular and punctual attendance.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in architecture or a related field is required.
  • 5-8 years of experience in project management for municipal or similar building projects.
  • Ability to document identity and employment eligibility in compliance with legal requirements.

Licensure or Certification:

  • A valid State Driver License that meets current carrier guidelines.
  • Preferred: Registration as an Architect (RA) in Ohio or the ability to obtain this registration within one year of hire.
