Position Overview:

The Luxury Suite Culinary Supervisor plays a crucial role in managing the dining experience for guests in the exclusive suite level, which comprises multiple suites. This position requires a personable individual who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced setting. The Luxury Suite Culinary Supervisor will collaborate with the Catering Manager on various initiatives, including staff training, inventory management, and special event coordination. Consistent attendance and availability for scheduled events are essential for this role.

Compensation: This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $16 to $20, in addition to tips.

Benefits: For part-time roles, benefits include a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions. Additionally, employees in part-time, seasonal, and internship positions accrue paid leave at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the arrangement of food service areas within designated suites based on pre-orders.
  • Ensure all suites are prepared prior to events according to received orders.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and hospitality throughout the suite level.
  • Facilitate communication among department counterparts.
  • Organize and prepare for events effectively.
  • Assist in finalizing financials for each event and ensure accurate billing.
  • Supervise team members during both event and non-event days.
  • Direct non-food and beverage inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor and uphold food quality standards.
  • Support management in maintaining departmental policies, safety standards, and a positive environment for both team members and guests.
  • Ensure compliance with cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Enforce safe alcohol service policies.
  • Manage inventory control and product requisition.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage menu items and their accompaniments.
  • Supervise beverage service to guests, including verifying age for alcohol purchases.
  • Respond to guest requests promptly.
  • Ensure suites are equipped with all necessary serviceware.
  • Oversee the setup of suite functions, including linens, dishware, glassware, and silverware.
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance in line with company standards.
  • Ensure all equipment is operational and clean before events.
  • Identify and manage guests who may be visibly intoxicated.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Exhibit strong human resources skills in employee relations, corrective actions, coaching, and counseling, while completing necessary HR documentation.
  • Assist the management team with various projects, including training, inventory, and special events.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to supervise others effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with employees, co-workers, management, and guests, fostering a positive and cooperative work environment.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven atmosphere.
  • Possession of a valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit as required by regulations.
  • Basic math skills for cash transactions, reconciliation, and inventory management.

Education and Experience:

  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment, or relevant educational background.
