Position Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring all activities align with the strategic goals set by the Director or Assistant Director. This role requires a deep understanding of facility operations, maintenance techniques, and engineering principles, along with a solid grasp of management practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate maintenance department activities to ensure effective engagement in the upkeep, repair, and enhancement of facilities.
  • Ensure quality and efficiency in work processes to meet deadlines and maintain high standards.
  • Manage inventory levels of materials and equipment, initiating orders as necessary.
  • Assume full departmental responsibilities in the absence of senior management, sharing weekend duties with fellow managers.
  • Monitor employee performance and maintain standards through regular inspections and reports.
  • Provide orientation and ongoing training for new and existing staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for team members.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and repair projects, ensuring quality completion and approving vendor payments.
  • Participate as a member of the facility's emergency response team.

Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
  • Experience with computerized work order systems is highly desirable.
  • Ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Associate degree is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other Windows-based software.
