Position Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance department's operations, ensuring that all activities align with the strategic goals of the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of facility management principles, engineering practices, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and quality of work.
- Manage inventory levels of materials and equipment, initiating orders as necessary.
- Assume full departmental responsibilities in the absence of senior management.
- Evaluate employee performance and provide constructive feedback to maintain high standards.
- Conduct training for new hires and offer ongoing support to existing staff.
- Oversee preventative maintenance and repair projects, ensuring completion to satisfaction.
- Participate in the facility's emergency response team.
Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory experience in a maintenance or facilities role, preferably within healthcare.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Associate degree in a related field is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
