Nurse Coordinator for Oncology Research

JOB OBJECTIVE:

To oversee and manage clinical research initiatives within the oncology department.

Core Responsibilities

  • Acquire and uphold essential skills necessary for executing clinical research, which includes

keeping up-to-date training records, nursing license, and state-mandated continuing education units.
  • Formulate, implement, and oversee research protocols. Enroll and supervise study participants and

their interactions.
  • Execute nursing responsibilities as dictated by research protocols as needed.
  • May act as a clinical advisor to non-clinical personnel.
  • Design recruitment strategies in collaboration with research teams.
  • Provide education to participants regarding study-related procedures.
  • Conduct data management tasks including data extraction, collection, source development

and reporting.
  • Handle sponsor communications, including site visits, inquiries, and other requests.
  • Oversee administrative duties, encompassing research documentation, revenue tracking

and participant compensation, among others.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Registered Nurse from an accredited nursing program, OR a graduate from an accredited nursing school with a current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing, OR a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a current license from the Georgia State Composite Board.

Minimum Experience Required

At least one year of experience in clinical research, healthcare, or a related field.

Minimum Licensure/Certification Required By Law

Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License OR

Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Georgia. OR Licensed for Advanced Practice Nursing

(ACNP).

Additional Qualifications

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
