TRC Companies is seeking a highly skilled Project Scientist/Industrial Hygiene Technician to join our team in Woburn, MA. As a key member of our Building Sciences and Industrial Hygiene business line, you will be responsible for performing project oversight and air monitoring during asbestos and other hazardous building materials projects.
Responsibilities- Perform project oversight and air monitoring during asbestos and other hazardous building materials projects
- Conduct microscopical analysis of air samples using phase contrast microscopy
- Perform industrial hygiene exposure assessments
- Conduct indoor air quality building evaluations
- Collect air samples as required by various regulatory agencies
- Prepare project chains of custody and daily logs
- Interact with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Provide consultative services and offer solutions to clients
- Interpret project specifications and drawings
- Prepare field reports
- Travel to various job sites in Eastern Massachusetts and other New England states
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Environmental Science or related field
- 5-10 years of experience in the hazardous building materials, indoor air quality/industrial hygiene industry
- Prior experience in various aspects of abatement projects
- Certification as an Asbestos Inspector and/or Project Monitor
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to read project specifications and drawings
- Adaptability and flexibility to various work schedules
- Ability to respond to emergency response scenarios
- Intuitive and creative thinker
- Understanding of project surroundings and reasons for services
- Ability to work as a team player
- Ability to carry and climb ladders, and use hand and power tools
- Ability to wear a respirator, safety harness, and other safety equipment as needed
- Valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation
