Job Summary:

This role functions as a consultant to management regarding compensation issues. The successful candidate will implement and manage compensation policies and programs, recommend solutions, and provide alternative actions to resolve compensation-related matters. Additionally, the role will lead and coordinate compensation projects as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a consultant to management by providing analysis and support on departmental reorganizations, job reclassifications, development of new job descriptions, and pay-related decisions for new hires, promotions, market adjustments, and internal equity adjustments.
  • Serve as a resource to Compensation Analysts during the reviews of reclassification requests and requests for new positions, which includes gathering job analysis information, reviewing external market data, and ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness with all recommendations.
  • Conduct special compensation studies and projects, including internal equity reviews, special ad-hoc surveys, and analyzing market trends.
  • Manage salary compensation tools and maintain salary survey sources; participate in salary surveys.
  • Lead compensation projects, developing action plans and coordinating the work of others.
  • Utilize HR systems for various actions, including creating new job codes, updating pay grades, and running reports.
  • Create and deliver presentations and training on compensation-related subjects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or Accounting, along with at least three (3) years of experience in a compensation role, or a combination of education and experience totaling seven years.
  • Working knowledge of FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) and basic knowledge of Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) and Equal Pay Act (EPA).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong background in data modeling with excellent Excel skills and experience in building complex spreadsheets. Familiarity with PeopleSoft is a plus. PHR, SPHR, and/or CCP certifications are advantageous.

  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to deliver results on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Expertise in job description preparation, job evaluation, and market analysis.
