Key Responsibilities- Oversee the monthly accounting close process, including the preparation of journal entries, analysis and explanation of fluctuations and variances, and delivery of insightful financial reports to management.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations.
- Engage with cross-functional business partners, including Finance, Operations, Tax, and Technology teams, to ensure effective communication and support.
- Comprehend relevant accounting principles and articulate the application of GAAP to colleagues and business partners.
- Evaluate current procedures and recommend, develop, and implement process enhancements to achieve efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with technical teams to address issues related to unprocessed system transactions.
- Assist in the external audit process and escalate any inefficiencies to management.
- Assess internal controls, identify gaps in the control framework, and design additional controls to rectify deficiencies.
- Contribute to projects aimed at reducing manual efforts.
- Establish trust with senior management through effective communication.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- 3+ years of operational accounting experience within a Fortune 500 environment.
- CPA certification.
- Familiarity with internal control frameworks (specifically COSO) to evaluate control design and operational efficiency.
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.
- Experience in accounting management within a Big Four firm, servicing Fortune 500 clients.

Our compensation reflects the labor costs across various US geographic markets. The base salary for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market.
Compensation is influenced by several factors, including market location, and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Amazon is a total compensation organization. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on bonuses, and other forms of compensation may be included as part of a comprehensive compensation package, along with a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
