Position Overview:

The Senior Compensation Analyst serves as a key advisor to management on compensation strategies and policies. This role is responsible for the implementation and administration of compensation programs, providing insights and alternative solutions to address compensation-related challenges. The analyst will lead and coordinate various compensation initiatives as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a consultant to management by delivering analysis and support on departmental restructuring, job reclassifications, and the development of new job descriptions, as well as making pay-related decisions for new hires, promotions, market adjustments, and internal equity considerations.
  • Support Compensation Analysts during the evaluation of reclassification requests and new position proposals, which includes gathering job analysis data, reviewing external market information, and ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness in all recommendations.
  • Conduct specialized compensation studies and projects, which may encompass internal equity assessments, ad-hoc surveys, market trend analysis, and the formulation of recommendations.
  • Oversee the salary compensation tool and maintain salary survey sources, while actively participating in salary surveys.
  • Lead compensation projects, which may involve developing action plans and coordinating the efforts of team members.
  • Utilize HR systems for various tasks, including creating new job codes, updating pay grades, and generating reports.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and training sessions on compensation-related topics.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of three years of experience in a compensation role involving market analysis, internal equity reviews, and job analysis, or a total of seven years of a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient understanding of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and foundational knowledge of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) and Equal Pay Act (EPA).
Preferred Skills:
  • Strong expertise in data modeling, advanced Excel capabilities, and experience with PeopleSoft. Professional certifications such as PHR, SPHR, or CCP are advantageous.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Expertise in job description development, job evaluation, and market analysis.

  • Standard office conditions may apply, with repetitive use of a keyboard.
