Position Overview:

The Payroll Administrator plays a crucial role in the financial operations of CMA CGM (America) LLC. This position is responsible for the meticulous management and execution of payroll for APL Maritime (AML) employees, ensuring that all payments, taxes, and deductions are processed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain comprehensive payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
2. Calculate hours worked and manage employee benefits and deductions.
3. Assist in payroll reporting and resolve any discrepancies that may arise.
4. Provide payroll-related support to both employees and management as needed.

Essential Duties:

- Adhere to AML's Integrated Management System (IMS) and all relevant regulations.
- Ensure that all responsibilities align with quality, health, safety, security, environmental, and ethical standards.
- Offer phone and email support to stakeholders as required.
- Communicate effectively with vessels through timely and clear written correspondence.
- Review payrolls for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all supporting documents are in order.
- Process third-party payments and manage vendor creation.
- Handle billing and invoicing, as well as maintain records of fringe benefit changes.
- Conduct year-end W2 reporting and manage garnishments.
- Prepare annual and quarterly tax reports and handle the return of funds or cancellation of issued checks.
- Audit payroll folders to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Provide support and backup to the Payroll Manager as necessary.

Qualifications:

- Strong attention to detail and exceptional mathematical skills.
- Proficiency in payroll software and systems.

Education:

- A Bachelor's Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Experience:

- A minimum of 5 years of payroll processing and accounting experience is required.
