About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Compass Group, North America. As a key member of our culinary department, you will be responsible for the successful operation of our kitchen, ensuring that our high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing cost controls and expenditure for the account, ensuring that we maintain our competitive edge in the market.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan and create menus that meet the diverse needs of our customers, while also ensuring that we stay ahead of the latest culinary trends.
  • Produce and execute catering events that exceed our customers' expectations, showcasing our culinary expertise and creativity.
  • Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with our marketing and culinary teams, driving business growth and customer engagement.
Requirements
  • A.S. or equivalent experience in culinary arts or a related field.
  • Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training.
  • Catering experience is a plus, with a strong understanding of high-volume, complex foodservice operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Must be experienced with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the internet.
  • Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities.
  • ServSafe certified is highly desirable.
