**VP, Business Development Leader**

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven VP, Business Development to lead our B2B sales efforts and drive business growth. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to penetrate enterprise markets, expand our total addressable market presence, and maintain and grow all enterprise account relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Execute Strategic Plans: Create and implement strategic plans to build out B2B channel sales through partnerships, aligning with our company's business objectives and firm business strategy.
- Lead Sales Efforts: Oversee the full sales cycle for initiating and developing relationships with key partnerships to meet our business needs, including identifying, evaluating, and soliciting new national enterprise brokers and other partnerships.
- Manage Relationships: Maintain relationships with key accounts and manage retention strategies, responding to RFPs, reviewing MSAs and other contractual agreements, and working with the account executive, legal, and leadership team to write proposals and SOWs.
- Provide Visibility and Insights: Provide visibility into B2B sales efforts, including pipeline reporting and conversion data, and establish and drive benchmarks to determine the effectiveness of programs and support decision-making.
- Build Strategic Relationships: Build ongoing strategic relationships with existing and new partners, including but not limited to, OneMedical and Mercer, to grow the total addressable market by establishing relationships with member companies and clients.
- Lead the Account Executive Team: Set and manage Account Executive goals, metrics, and reporting, and work closely with the Account Management team to ensure the successful onboarding of new partners and national accounts.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Build strong relationships and collaboration with cross-functional departments, including Sales, Analytics, IT, Operations, and Finance, to develop a streamlined infrastructure for managing the business.
Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years of overall sales or business development experience with a benefits broker, in an executive leadership position.
- Leadership Skills: Extensive experience managing retail and wholesale broker relationships, strong relationships with insurers, and experience leading leaders with large sales teams across multiple locations and managing large P/Ls.
- Business Acumen: Ability to utilize data to drive results, influence internal business partners, and accomplish goals through a collaborative effort.
- Communication Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
