The Residential Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the well-being of clients within the residential program during their assigned shifts. This role involves close collaboration with the Team Leader and Manager to effectively address the needs of the program.

The Supervisor will deliver direct clinical support to clients, focusing on enhancing independent living skills, managing crises, overseeing medication adherence, and addressing symptom management.

Effective communication of critical client information to supervisors, healthcare providers, specialists, and other staff involved in client care is essential during shifts and at shift transitions.

The Supervisor will possess strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with clients, ensuring stable housing is maintained.

They will implement client-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approaches to support individuals with severe mental health challenges and co-occurring substance use, utilizing harm reduction strategies.


Key Responsibilities:


Engage directly with clients to assess case management needs, provide training in independent living skills, and deliver individual or group services, including crisis intervention as necessary.

Offer recovery-oriented clinical services to assist residential clients in achieving independent living goals (e.g., personal hygiene, housekeeping, unit inspections, nutrition, cooking, grocery shopping) while promoting the least restrictive living environment for each individual.

Employ motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients regarding their substance use.

Build supportive relationships with clients to help them establish personal goals and maintain stable housing.

Demonstrate effective communication, recovery-oriented living skills, coping strategies, and self-help techniques for clients.

Assist clients in recognizing signs and symptoms of de-compensation and collaborate with them to identify coping mechanisms for managing symptoms and stressors.

Provide de-escalation and crisis intervention support for clients during shifts.


Work in partnership with team members, prescribers, and other staff to ensure high-quality service delivery and effective interventions for clients.

Facilitate psychoeducation, medication training, and monitoring in accordance with organizational policies.

Coordinate with healthcare providers and pharmacies to ensure medication accuracy for clients.


Maintain thorough documentation and records to comply with Medicaid, CARF, HUD, funding agencies, and organizational standards.

Ensure routine safety drills are conducted in line with established policies and procedures.

Assist clients in developing budgets to promote positive financial decision-making.

Document all services rendered to clients in the electronic health record during shifts.

Guide and support clients in applying for entitlements as necessary, including Supplemental Security Income, Social Security Disability Insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and LINK.

Assist with the re-certification of annual leases and the collection of necessary documents to maintain housing.

Support the planning and organization of group activities and outings that align with client needs and goals.

Participate in team meetings to collaborate on effective support strategies for clients' recovery and address home-related needs.

Attend departmental meetings to remain compliant with updates and training requirements.

Perform additional related duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

High School Diploma or GED with two years of supervised clinical experience in a mental health environment.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in any discipline.

Must be at least 21 years old and demonstrate the following competencies:

Proficiency in delivering rehabilitative services to adults.

The ability to function within a provider agency's framework and accept supervision.

The capacity to work constructively with service recipients, other service providers, and the community; or be qualified as a Peer Support Worker.

Preferred experience working with individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders.

Preferred experience in residential harm reduction services.
