Role Overview:
Bricksave is in search of a motivated and skilled Residential Renovation and Construction Supervisor to enhance our growing Real Estate division. In this essential role, you will serve as the Owner's representative, guiding the property onboarding process post-acquisition, managing the execution of repairs and renovations across various projects, and ensuring that all work adheres to Bricksave's exceptional standards. Reporting directly to the Portfolio Manager, your contributions will be vital in improving asset performance and value through strategic renovation and asset management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Scoping and Planning: Collaborate with local vendors to create comprehensive repair and renovation scopes that align with Bricksave's quality benchmarks and client expectations.
- Performance Analysis: Continuously evaluate project timelines, costs, and quality metrics, implementing necessary adjustments to enhance performance and resolve any challenges.
- Team Management: Supervise 3-4 field-based renovation teams, overseeing daily operations to ensure timely and effective completion of all renovation tasks.
- Vendor Sourcing and Management: Identify and cultivate relationships with new vendors as required. Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to optimize value while controlling costs.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, uphold quality standards, and address any issues. Implement stringent quality control measures to ensure projects meet defined specifications.
- Strategic Partnerships: Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with vendors to enhance value delivery and improve renovation efficiency.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Acquisitions, Property Management, and Transaction teams to prepare properties for rental or sale, ensuring they are ready for the market.
- Stakeholder Communication: Keep stakeholders updated on project milestones, progress, and challenges, including the Portfolio Manager, Transaction Manager, Head of Real Estate, and other cross-functional teams.
- Process Improvement: Actively seek opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost savings. Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices and standards.
- Technology and Data Utilization: Utilize technology and data analytics to inform decision-making and enhance project performance.
- Adaptability: Quickly adjust to changing priorities and project requirements, driving continuous improvement initiatives to maintain Bricksave's industry leadership.
Required Skills/Qualifications and Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in residential construction and renovation management.
- Hands-on experience in renovation or construction is preferred.
- Strong technical and verbal communication skills.
- Expertise in estimating residential construction and renovation projects.
- Proven track record in managing residential construction and renovation projects.
- Professional experience as a contractor or in a similar role is advantageous.
- Highly organized with excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
Location:
This is a hybrid role, requiring responsibilities to be performed in the field and from a home office for part of the week, with an option for remote work. Candidates must be based within a reasonable commuting distance of the Chicago, IL market.
