Key Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Registered Nurse (RN) House Supervisor
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments, and administration to ensure comprehensive care for all residents, addressing any unmet needs and resolving complaints effectively.
- Interpret and enforce policies related to patient and resident care delivery.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels for each unit, maintaining appropriate staff-to-patient ratios and covering absences.
- Oversee chart checks, maintain up-to-date seclusion/restraint logs, and ensure accurate nursing assessments and documentation.
- Conduct rounds at the beginning of each shift and perform random audits.
- Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in orienting and training staff to ensure competency in their roles.
- Support the DON in maintaining compliance with professional, regulatory, and governmental standards.
- Model customer service expectations and prioritize patient safety.
- Monitor and evaluate patient care processes and outcomes to ensure the delivery of competent, compassionate, and safe care.
- Coordinate all aspects of patient care, including physician orders and diagnostic information.
- Document medical and behavioral health information accurately.
- Administer medications and maintain records in accordance with company policies.
- Update and revise care plans as needed based on patient progress or changes in condition.
- Prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Act as the leader on shift for admissions and discharges, communicating changes in patient conditions to physicians and adjusting staffing as necessary.
- Utilize the administrator-on-call for situations requiring additional attention.
- Provide direct patient care as needed.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Perform additional functions and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution required. Candidates enrolled in a BSN program with graduation expected within 18 months may be considered.
- Minimum of three years of nursing experience required.
- Preferred experience includes one or more years in med/surg nursing.
- Experience in a behavioral health setting is preferred.
- Supervisory or charge position experience is preferred.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Current RN license as mandated by state regulations.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training provided upon hire).
- First aid certification may be required based on state or facility guidelines.
