About the Role

Mercy Home for Boys & Girls is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Care Worker to join our team. As a key member of our residential program, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for our youth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 24/7 care and supervision to our youth, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address the unique needs of each youth.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support services, including education, career development, and after-school programs.
  • Engage in daily routines and activities with the youth, promoting socialization, skill-building, and personal growth.
  • Communicate effectively with youth, families, and colleagues to ensure seamless coordination of care.
  • Participate in regular supervision meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least two years of experience working with youth, preferably in a residential or therapeutic setting.
  • Valid Illinois driver's license and ability to drive a van.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to the mission, values, and goals of Mercy Home for Boys & Girls.
