Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Construction Safety Coordinator for our client, a leader in the construction industry.

Role Overview

This position will be stationed at a construction project site, focusing on establishing and maintaining safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Developing Safety Policies: You will be tasked with formulating and executing safety policies that align with organizational standards and legal requirements. This includes crafting safety guidelines and training programs.
  2. Conducting Risk Assessments: Your role will involve evaluating work environments to identify potential hazards. This may require inspecting tools, facilities, and operational processes to ensure adherence to safety regulations.
  3. Managing Safety Training: You will organize and implement safety training sessions for employees, contractors, and visitors, which includes conducting orientations and ongoing training initiatives.
  4. Incident Investigation: In case of workplace incidents, you will lead investigations to uncover root causes and develop preventive measures, including data analysis and witness interviews.
  5. Regulatory Compliance: Staying informed about safety regulations, including OSHA standards, is essential. You will conduct audits and inspections to identify compliance gaps and initiate corrective actions.
  6. Promoting Safety Culture: Actively fostering a safety-conscious environment by coordinating safety campaigns and encouraging employee participation in safety initiatives is a key aspect of this role.
  7. Collaboration: You will work in partnership with management, supervisors, and team members to promote safety initiatives and ensure a unified approach to safety practices across the organization.
Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is typically required. Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional or Construction Health and Safety Technician are preferred. Candidates should possess:

  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards, particularly OSHA.
  • Experience in risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety program development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective training and stakeholder interaction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • The capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
