Position Summary:
The Project Engineer (PE) plays a crucial role in preparing and maintaining project documentation and logs while providing technical assistance to Project Managers and field teams. Throughout the project lifecycle, the PE is responsible for delivering project updates and product implementation support to the technical team. The Project Engineer will also establish project objectives and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
This role requires the ability to thrive in an agile project environment, effectively prioritize tasks, and work both independently and collaboratively within a project team.
Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and refine technical training, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and work instructions to ensure compliance with customer quality plans and industry standards.
- Provide field and project engineering support, including quality control, contract administration, shop drawing reviews, submittals, scheduling, Requests for Information (RFIs), and other project support functions as per contract requirements.
- Manage change orders, overseeing administration, pricing, submission, and tracking.- Assist in formulating the construction plan and engineering methods according to the project's scope and specifications.
- Deliver certifiable training on various testing equipment systems, processes, and procedures.
- Establish methodologies for administering field testing and develop best practices to monitor the quality of testing activities.
- Oversee closeout operations, including the review and validation of test reports, redlines, as-built drawings, warranties, and other necessary project documentation.
- Coordinate and review drawings, submissions, specifications, changes, and document control.- Manage contracts, including administration, defining scope, responding to inquiries, monitoring progress, and overseeing project closeout functions.
- Collaborate with project and field management teams to design temporary works, conduct audits, and inspections for cabling installations.
- Supervise inventory control, including monitoring and tracking of testing equipment and resources.- Work with the project team to identify and implement methods to enhance project efficiencies and maintain profitability.
- Create frameworks for developing project metrics and managing data collection.
- Provide technical and regulatory compliance expertise and support throughout the organization.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support Lean methodologies to align with corporate strategic goals.Travel Requirements:
This position typically requires minimal overnight travel (approximately 5%). The individual in this role should be prepared to travel as needed by E2.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or Engineering.
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- 3-5 years of experience in structured cabling design work.
Certifications:
- RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer).
- Applicable Project Management Certification.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong leadership, communication, influencing, and collaborative skills.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Preferred experience in large data center construction, design, and technical knowledge.
- Documented design skills and proficiency in Blue Beam are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods is required.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management capabilities.
- Self-starter with problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.).
Work Environment:
The standard work environment for this position includes both an indoor business office and construction settings. The role requires the ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods.
Employees are regularly required to sit, talk, hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms on an intermittent to regular basis.
Employees must frequently stand and walk, regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Climbing ladders up to 20 feet may be required, along with working in tight or confined spaces. Regular and punctual attendance is essential.Occasional travel may be necessary by conventional means, including aircraft and motor vehicles, as required.
