Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CDL Driver - Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at Sterling Construction. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy equipment and vehicles, performing daily maintenance and safety checks, and training new employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Heavy Equipment and Vehicles: Safely operate heavy equipment and vehicles, including water trucks, in a construction environment.
  • Daily Maintenance and Safety Checks: Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment and vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Training and Development: Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment and vehicles.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work effectively as a team member, communicating clearly and listening actively to ensure the success of our operations.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced construction environment, with frequent changes in priorities and deadlines.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction-related trucks and heavy equipment operation.
  • Licenses and Certifications: CDL Class A license with Tanker endorsement.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with frequent bending, climbing, lifting (up to 75lbs), twisting, standing, balancing, and handling materials.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to clearly convey information and instructions to team members.
