Operations Manager

Job Summary
The H&S Family of Bakeries is seeking a highly skilled Operations Specialist to oversee and manage all facets of Production, Maintenance, and Sanitation activities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of product quality while strictly adhering to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide and direct all plant operations to ensure profit and quality goals.
- Ensure product quality and adherence to all applicable standards (FDA, QBA, OSHA, A.I.B, etc.).
- Oversee relations between departments to ensure cooperation, teamwork, and productivity.
- Review and evaluate each department's operating budget and prepare an overall presentation to the owner for the company's operating budget.
- Coordinate with HR Manager to ensure the execution of the company's human resource and labor relations policies, procedures, and programs.
- Direct and manage the activities of ordering, shipping, and transportation to ensure customer needs are met.
- Represent the company in all plant operations matters to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (i.e. EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, etc.).
- Maintain a good employee relation in all phases of the operation.
Safety and Sanitation
- Maintain a safe working environment for all employees/contractors.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety programs.
- Participate in accident investigations.
- Promote employee safety in all areas of operations.
- Maintain membership on the Safety committee.
Requirements
- Extensive and progressive background in plant management and operations.
- 4-year degree or equivalent industry training; Completion of management skills training program; and, AMA Management Skills course.
- Physically capable of moving to all areas of the plant, company facilities, community facilities, and customer locations. Must be capable of reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing, and pulling as required in a production operation.
- Able to view products and determine adherence to quality control standards including size, shape, color, cut, etc.
- Able to generate written and verbal communications clearly and distinctly. Ability to read and review written communication, blueprints, schematics, etc.
- Able to operate required office equipment.
- Able to research, develop, implement, and monitor required policies and procedures.
