About the Role

One Acre Fund is seeking a seasoned management professional to join our team as the Chief of Staff to the Managing Director. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our leadership team and contribute to the growth and success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Partnerships and Fundraising: Develop and implement strategic funding agreements with institutional and high-net-worth funders, aligning with One Acre Fund's long-term goals. This includes grant origination, partnership development, and grant stewardship.
  • Board Management: Collaborate with the Office of the CEO and Board Chair to manage One Acre Fund's Global Governing Board and European Boards, comprised of experienced leaders in the private and social sectors. Set strategic meeting agendas, oversee materials development, and manage board recruitment.
  • Office Leadership: Oversee the satisfaction, professional development, culture, and retention of One Acre Fund's US and European staff, with a focus on creating a positive and productive work environment.
  • Thought Leadership and Spokesperson: Represent One Acre Fund at conferences, lead case study discussions, write blogs and white papers for top publications, and contribute to global dialogues on topics such as hunger, climate change, and social return on investment.
  • Team Development: Supervise and develop at least two individuals across the responsibilities above, and over time, build a larger team to create an Office of the Managing Director.

Qualifications
  • Seeking a long-term career commitment to the farmers we serve.
  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in management consulting, leadership of a globally-focused social enterprise or nonprofit, grant or debt-raising, impact investing or philanthropy in the global development sector, or work experience in Africa and/or in agriculture.
  • Graduate degree in a relevant field, such as an MBA or MPA/MPP.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing a large scope with high attention to detail.
  • Strong technical skills in finance/accounting, financial modeling, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Charismatic, yet humble communicator.
  • Ability to travel, with 40-60 nights per year, roughly evenly split between domestic and international.
  • Genuine commitment to rural communities and a passion for providing opportunity to the hardest-working farmers on the planet.
  • Language: English.
