Position Overview

Rust-Oleum Corporation is seeking to hire a Sales Consultant within our Fireproofing Division. This role is designed for candidates who are located in the vicinity of Wisconsin or Chicago. The primary responsibility of this position is to drive sales and cultivate new business opportunities with both existing clients and potential customers, aiming to enhance sales volume, revenue, and overall profitability within the designated territory. We are looking for individuals who possess a proactive sales approach and have prior experience in the fireproofing, paint, or coatings sectors.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business or a related Technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

Minimum of 4 years of sales or business development experience, ideally within the protective coatings market.

Desirable Qualifications

Prior experience in industrial sales specifically related to fireproofing or coatings is highly preferred. NACE certifications are advantageous.

Physical Demands

This role requires minimal physical exertion. Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs may be necessary. Prolonged computer usage may be required, potentially up to 8 hours daily. There may be occasional exposure to various chemicals. Travel by car may be necessary up to 50% of the time, which could include overnight trips.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with both new and existing clients to enhance sales volume, stay informed about customer needs, and analyze market trends.
  • Communicate with customers and prospects to inform them about products, new offerings, and available services. Provide technical support as needed.
  • Manage the process of securing and renewing orders; collaborate with customer service and sales management to meet customer service expectations.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic sales program within the territory, focusing on prospecting, new business development, and repeat business opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with all company personnel and resources to ensure comprehensive customer service and ongoing customer satisfaction.
  • Exercise sound judgment and prompt follow-up on customer inquiries, returns, claims, or other product/service-related issues.
  • Collect and report significant developments within accounts, prospects, competitors, and the broader market for use in company research and planning.
  • Provide annual sales reports detailing target markets and accounts.
  • May serve as a Field Technical Service Engineer as required.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Company's safety and quality initiatives.
