Position Overview

The Financial Planning Analyst will play a crucial role in the assessment, monitoring, and reporting of capital investments across the organization.

This encompasses managing capital support requests, overseeing capital tracking and reporting, as well as forecasting customer premise equipment and demand models.

The analyst will provide essential financial assistance for both corporate and market operations, including reporting, analytical assessments, and monthly closing tasks.

Acting as the primary liaison for all capital-related inquiries, the analyst will engage regularly with the accounting and purchasing teams to address any issues that arise.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyzing financial statements, direct costs, and SG&A expenses by reviewing month-to-date and year-to-date variances against budget and forecasts.
  • Leading the preparation and consolidation of monthly and quarterly commission payouts for the sales team.
  • Developing and maintaining detailed account analyses and roll forwards of P&L accounts for monthly evaluations as part of the financial close process.
  • Assisting in the formulation of annual budgets.
  • Supporting the preparation of monthly and quarterly forecasts.
  • Conducting ad hoc projects as necessary to analyze financial data.
  • Collaborating with team members and business leaders to establish and comprehend capital metrics.
  • Working with team members to evaluate qualitative and quantitative data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of source data and subsequent reporting.
  • Engaging with various operational department heads to gain insights into their operations for enhanced forecasting and expense management.
  • Understanding the policies and procedures between operations and accounting, and recommending efficiency improvements as needed.
  • Utilizing all skills effectively to assist the team in managing business operations.
  • Employing accounting software proficiently to analyze financial data.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Experience

The successful candidate should have:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial or accounting role.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience with financial management software such as Hyperion, Great Plains, and Host Analytics (Planful) is preferred.
