We're on the lookout for a seasoned Business Development Representative with a knack for Sales to join our vibrant team in Virginia Beach, VA. This role requires a candidate with a background in lead generation, outbound prospecting, relationship building, and preferably within the software or technology industry. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including sales, project management, and marketing, to develop sales plans and strategies that will help expand the customer base and identify new projects and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contact and qualify new leads that come in through inbound lead sources such as email and website inquiries.
  • Collaborate with the sales teams to build plans and strategies to reach new and prospective customers.
  • Conduct research and build account plans on target customers that will lead to meaningful outbound activities.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective clients, highlighting the value proposition of the company's products or services.
  • Generate new sales opportunities using outbound strategies including, but not limited to, phone calls, emails, LinkedIn, and CRM.
  • Monitor and attend meetings with prospects while handling the introductions and follow-up with the sales representatives.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential customers, industry trends, spending trends, and competitive analysis.
  • Monitor, update, and track new leads and active opportunities using modern CRM and database systems.
  • Manage annual software renewals for all existing customers while also pursuing upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Attend conferences and tradeshows on behalf of the company to drive new business and create brand awareness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or another related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in sales, business development, or other related field and preferably within the software or technology industry.
  • Have a strong work ethic and are eager to learn and create connections with prospects.
  • Have experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or another similar prospecting application that will allow you to track leads and next steps with prospects.
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies, such as MEDDIC, Solution Selling, etc.
  • Knowledge of SLED and Commercial market dynamics, regulations, and procurement processes is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Must be able to travel within the United States on a quarterly basis while maintaining professionalism.
  • Demonstrated ability to work solo as well as being a productive team member.
  • Thorough understanding of commercial awareness and brand recognition to successfully establish rapport with prospects.
