Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Special Procedures Technologist to join our team at HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating medical diagnostic imaging equipment and assisting in imaging procedures such as angiography and cardiac catheterization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate medical diagnostic imaging equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Assist in imaging procedures such as angiography and cardiac catheterization, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe and competent manner.
  • Perform technical radiographic procedures accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the administration of contrast media in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
  • Obtain and document all pertinent patient information prior to exam, including patient history, pregnancy, allergies, and informed consent.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, providing explanations of procedures within scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to ensure high-quality images and accurate diagnoses.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
  • Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
  • Current ARRT credential; RCIS credential also considered in conjunction with minimum Interventional Radiology (IR) experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years licensed experience in Radiology to include at least one (1) year of IR experience
  • Angio, Peripheral, and Neuro experience a plus
  • BLS required and ACLS required within 6 months of hire
