Position Overview:

The Project Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring effective management of project costs and schedules. This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of project financial plans and schedules that align with project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide cost-effective solutions for Schedule & Cost Management.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules and budgets to meet project goals.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to enhance project delivery without replacing their role.

Core Deliverables:

  • Design and implement project & financial control processes and tools.
  • Create and manage resource-leveled project schedules using industry best practices.
  • Formulate and oversee project budgets ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Partner with the Project Manager to analyze schedule and cost data for informed decision-making.
  • Facilitate planning, budgeting, and project control meetings.
  • Conduct invoice analysis for accuracy and compliance.

Performance Expectations:

  • Develop and oversee planning & control processes and tools.
  • Coordinate the creation of an integrated project schedule with the Project Manager and team.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards in planning practices and tools.
  • Generate reports to monitor project progress, including critical path and earned value analysis.
  • Assist the Project Manager in staffing and resource planning.
  • Identify and analyze potential risks to project timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate on mitigation strategies with the Project Manager.
  • Maintain project financial planning and monitoring best practices.
  • Ensure synchronization between project budgets and schedules.
  • Enhance management reporting for better financial forecasting and decision-making.
  • Classify and track Capital and Operating Expenses in alignment with company standards.
  • Analyze budget variances and their implications on project financials.
  • Ensure accurate charge code maintenance in financial systems.
  • Review project invoices for accuracy and timely processing.
  • Update project health information in reporting systems as required.
  • Schedule and lead all planning and project status meetings.
  • Provide necessary input for project presentations and documentation.
  • Support the Project Manager in executing the Information Management Plan.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS or MA/MS in a relevant field with 8-10 years of experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP/PMI) certification is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Project Server.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • In-depth knowledge of financial project control areas including forecasting and budgeting.
  • Familiarity with planning project control methodologies such as earned value analysis.
  • Experience managing complex projects with significant budgets.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to comprehend project scope and execution methodologies.
  • Strong facilitation skills for effective meetings.
