Role Summary

The Project Accounting Analyst plays a crucial role within our finance and accounting division. This team is composed of professionals who consistently expand their influence beyond conventional accounting responsibilities. This position is essential for overseeing the accounting processes and internal controls associated with various projects and entities. It offers invaluable general accounting experience with opportunities for advancement into areas such as Financial Reporting and Deal Accounting.

Key Responsibilities

Journal Entry Preparation:

  • Record accruals, reserves, reclassifications, depreciation, and other essential accounting entries.
  • Process payroll and overhead costs for the company.
  • Document intercompany transactions and funding activities.
  • Collaborate with external service providers and local offices to ensure accurate accounting practices.

Cash Management:

  • Post and reconcile daily cash receipts and payments.
  • Conduct daily and monthly bank statement reconciliations.
  • Oversee bank account management, including linking accounts and maintaining check processes.
  • Support the transition to SWIFT for financial transactions.

Monthly Closing and Analysis:

  • Execute various monthly closing tasks, including coding reviews and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Prepare fixed asset rollforward schedules and perform analytical checks.
  • Analyze financial data to identify and report significant variances and trends.
  • Assist in the consolidation process.
  • Conduct overhead analysis and prepare related reports for management.
  • Support external financial audits.

Internal Controls Development:

  • Design and test internal controls for financial processes.
  • Maintain Delegation of Authority (DOA) and expense approval workflows.
  • Manage the Concur reporting system and oversee employee expense reporting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a General Accounting role.
  • CPA certification is strongly preferred; candidates must be CPA eligible at a minimum.
  • Fundamental accounting skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft applications, including Outlook and Word.
