The Associate Director, Hope for the Future, is a key member of the Archdiocese of San Antonio's development team, responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating development and major fundraising activities to benefit the Catholic school community.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and prioritize fundraising efforts in alignment with the priorities of the Department of Catholic Schools.
- Cultivate support for Hope for the Future through close collaboration with the volunteer development board.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, recognize, and retain major donor support for Hope for the Future in collaboration with the Director of Stewardship & Development.
- Educate donors and the public about the mission, vision, and activities of Hope for the Future and the Archdiocese of San Antonio through a coordinated marketing and engagement plan.
- Conduct annual appeal, including direct mail solicitation, dissemination at Catholic Schools, and social media outreach.
- Lead the planning and execution of the annual Khaki & Plaid gala.
- Develop new fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the board and Department of Catholic Schools.
- Collaborate with the Grants Manager in preparing grants by providing program and budget narrative as requested.
- Develop a young alumni group to foster support and engagement from Catholic school alumni.
- Serve as a resource to Catholic schools in fundraising and development strategies at the local level.
- Provide professional development opportunities to the Catholic Schools.
- Collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders for strategic planning, cultivation, solicitation, and understanding of the needs of the Catholic school community.
- Coordinate and oversee volunteers for special events.
- Regularly attend and participate in archdiocesan functions and events.
- Support mission awareness and education efforts for the Department of Stewardship & Development.
- Adhere to safety training and protocols daily and take precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
- Protect the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization.
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy.
- Take a solution-oriented approach in interactions and undertakings, promoting collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Social Sciences, or an applicable field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in non-profit fundraising and development.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and valid vehicle insurance.
- Working knowledge of fundraising strategies and principles, tax planning principles, and development information systems.
- Practicing Catholic with working knowledge of the Catholic Church preferred.
- Bi-lingual is a plus, but not required.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with donors and prospects, fundraising colleagues, leadership, and volunteers.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, CRM, etc.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team, have good written and verbal skills, and good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Travel requirements for the position include 20% local and 1% overnight.
