Account Manager Job Description

At HFI, we are seeking a highly skilled Account Manager to join our team. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing sales account activities, focusing on our account management strategy to deliver exceptional customer service and expand our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build Strong Customer Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers through exceptional service and understanding of their needs.
  • Support Operational and Product Development Teams: Actively collaborate with operational and product development teams to ensure alignment with customer expectations.
  • Proactively Engage with Customers: Engage with customers daily to discuss quoting and change management, price tracking, sales planning, growth strategies, and conflict resolution.
Account Management Objectives:
  1. Maintain/Increase Program Operating Income: Manage sales transactions with customers, control the cost of the value stream, and ensure program budgets are adhered to or managed below allotted program targets.
  2. Ensure Disciplines Alignment: Ensure all disciplines within the program team are aligned with customer expectations.
  3. Expedite Commercial Issues: Expedite all open commercial issues (internal and external) to close.
  4. Targeted Business: Obtain targeted business that meets organizational financial metrics.
  5. Financial Collaboration: Collaborate with internal finance teams to develop financial forecasts, long-range financial plans, and day-to-day financial metric tracking.
  6. Account Management Strategic Targets: Focus on execution of account management strategic targets, including winning replacement revenue, repricing/fixing underperforming programs, offsetting to APR/LTA/PTP commitments, aligning terms and conditions, and monitoring accounts receivable/cash management.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a sales role within the automotive industry, supporting Japanese and North American-based OEMs and Tier 1 Suppliers.
  • Education: Minimum of a bachelor's degree and previous business-to-business sales experience.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with internal team members and external customers, experience in automotive program management requirements and deliverables.
