Company Overview:
Piedmont Airlines is committed to delivering exceptional service to our customers and airline partners. We are currently looking for a dedicated and reliable professional to join our Ground Handling Department as a Ground Operations Supervisor.

Position Summary:
The Ground Operations Supervisor will oversee the daily operational functions of the department, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. This role includes conducting training sessions, distributing educational materials to mentors, creating work schedules, and providing direct support to the training team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and facilitate on-the-job training for new employees and provide ongoing training for current staff in all ramp operations.
  • Conduct briefings and distribute training materials/checklists to mentors.
  • Develop and manage work schedules for team members.
  • Assist the Training Department with hands-on support and provide constructive feedback to management.
  • Evaluate and approve employees for duty after successful completion of training programs.
  • Mentor and guide staff in their career development.
  • Address non-compliance issues and enforce disciplinary measures as necessary.
  • Implement corporate culture, policies, and objectives into daily operations.
  • Oversee a diverse team of employees with various responsibilities.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including generating daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Enhance operational efficiency by adapting to changing conditions and proactively resolving issues.
  • Supervise and support personnel in fulfilling their duties to ensure timely performance and high-quality customer service.
  • Provide assistance during employee absences that impact operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Exceptional organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work autonomously and meet self-imposed deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with all levels of management and support staff.
  • Proficient in conflict resolution among team members.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in airline management.
  • Current employee of Piedmont Airlines with a minimum of six months of service.
  • Understanding of basic airport operations and essential job functions for gate and ramp agents.
  • Extensive knowledge of QIK and Sabre systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Aviation, Business, or a related field.

Work Environment:

  • Utilization of computers and other office equipment.
  • Work in an airport ramp setting, subject to varying weather conditions and elevated noise levels.
  • Availability for all shifts, including weekends, nights, holidays, and irregular hours.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent activities including stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, standing, reaching, lifting, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
  • Assist passengers with disabilities, including pushing wheelchairs.
