Position Title: Aircraft Ground Support Specialist
Compensation: $15.00 per hour
Work Schedule: Evening Shift
Flight Privileges Available
The Aircraft Ground Support Specialist is responsible for providing essential ground services for both incoming and outgoing flights. This includes the management of baggage, mail, and freight, as well as aircraft maintenance tasks, operation of motorized equipment, and the upkeep of aircraft interiors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage passenger baggage, ensuring proper loading, unloading, and transportation within the airport.
- Handle U.S. Mail, freight, and express parcels with care, facilitating their loading and unloading as needed.
- Engage actively in the Safety Management System (SMS) to promote a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with customer and G2 specifications for all ground handling operations.
- Assist in towing and positioning aircraft to designated areas within the airport.
- Provide guidance and support to front-line employees regarding policies and procedures.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with passengers, colleagues, supervisors, and management.
- Adhere to all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards set forth by the Company and regulatory authorities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
- Successful completion of a drug screening and background check is mandatory.
- Must meet all criteria to obtain an airport SIDA badge and Customs Seal, including a thorough background check and a ten-year work history.
- Reliable communication and transportation are essential.
Language Proficiency:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Capability to read and interpret safety regulations, operational manuals, and employee handbooks.
- Proficient in presenting information clearly and responding to inquiries from various stakeholders.
- Strong listening skills are necessary.
