The primary role of the Site Construction Manager is to supervise the building of designated residential projects.

This position involves leading a team in executing tasks directly related to the construction of homes, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and teamwork.

The Site Construction Manager will primarily operate on-site, directly overseeing all facets of home construction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership for construction initiatives as designated by the Construction Director.
  • Ensure that assigned projects are completed within the specified timeline and budget.
  • Guarantee compliance with current building regulations and company standards.
  • Train Assistant Managers and Crew Leaders in safety protocols, construction methods, and volunteer management.
  • Directly oversee Assistant Managers, offering mentorship and daily guidance to foster their growth.
  • Manage subcontractors involved in assigned projects.
  • Plan daily operations to ensure all necessary materials and workforce are available for efficient task completion.
  • Coordinate municipal inspections throughout the construction process.
  • Order and verify that all required materials and tools are on-site for scheduled tasks.
  • Conduct routine inspections to uphold quality control standards.
  • Participate in the development and management of project budgets.
  • Implement and enforce safety measures for all staff and volunteers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site at the end of each workday.
  • Facilitate safety training for construction staff and volunteer leaders.
  • Encourage Partner Family involvement in construction activities.
  • Communicate Habitat's mission effectively to volunteers.
  • Propose beneficial building practices and cost-saving opportunities to the Construction Director.
  • Advise on current and future construction practices and design considerations.
  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of volunteers and construction staff weekly.
  • Identify unfilled volunteer roles and communicate needs to the management team.
  • Balance critical project objectives with maximizing volunteer engagement.
  • Create a welcoming and enjoyable environment for all volunteers and Partner Families.
  • Utilize administrative tools for effective job management.
  • Oversee material procurement for assigned projects.
  • Strive for consistency in construction techniques and volunteer experiences across all job sites.
  • Ensure a consistent presence on job sites and act as crew leader when necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Construction Director.

  • Substantial knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Proficiency in software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings.
  • Capability to create and maintain schedules.
  • Composure in dynamic environments.
  • Professional appearance at all times.
  • Availability to work a Tuesday to Saturday schedule.
