Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Director to join our team at Adolfson & Peterson Construction. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to identify new business opportunities, markets, and clients in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to drive growth and profitability
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, markets, and clients
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, owners, architects, and engineers
  • Develop and deliver compelling sales and marketing materials to introduce AP's capabilities and value proposition
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective marketing strategies to win in the marketplace
  • Manage resources within budgetary guidelines and ensure strategic objectives are understood and executed by the pursuit team

Requirements:

  • History of progressively more responsible leadership experience and proven results
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics, or related discipline and 6+ years of experience with at least 3 years of demonstrated success in selling and developing new business
  • Experience and familiarity with the A/E/C industry preferred
  • Proficiency using consultative selling approach strategies and techniques
  • Significant management experience and strategy development/deployment with a construction firm and experience developing new markets or businesses is preferred
