Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Educator enhances professional practice and ensures quality patient care by delivering evidence-based educational programs that foster professional competency among nursing and non-licensed clinical staff at the facility.

In this role, you will:

  • Contribute to the development, coordination, management, facilitation, execution, and assessment of onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and healthcare personnel.
  • Deliver orientation and onboarding initiatives aimed at improving employee retention.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to refine programs based on evaluation feedback.
  • Engage in the design, coordination, and management of competency assessments.
  • Create educational activities targeting practice gaps for both licensed and non-licensed healthcare staff, aligning with HCA and division clinical education processes.
  • Develop initiatives to achieve specific outcomes related to identified knowledge, skill, and practice deficiencies.
  • Promote the integration of evidence-based practices to enhance continuous improvement in clinical settings.
  • Identify and implement strategies for ongoing professional development through lifelong learning.
  • Utilize a novice-to-expert framework to facilitate staff development, providing opportunities for skill enhancement and mastery.

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related clinical field is required.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related clinical field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute care environment is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in clinical education is preferred.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of practice or an active compact state license is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
