Position Overview:

This role is integral to the functioning of our Trauma and Spine unit, where we prioritize high-quality patient care and effective management of nursing staff.


About the Role:

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is a pivotal leader on the unit, responsible for overseeing nursing operations and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. This position involves coordinating unit activities, managing staff requirements, and addressing employee concerns.


Unit Details:

The Trauma and Spine unit is a specialized area with 44 beds, dedicated to the care of surgical and trauma patients, particularly those recovering from spinal surgeries and traumatic injuries.

Our patient demographic includes individuals affected by various accidents and falls, necessitating a collaborative approach to recovery.


Team Environment:

We foster a supportive and collaborative culture where teamwork is paramount. Our unit engages in regular celebrations and team-building activities to strengthen interpersonal connections.


Innovative Care Initiatives:

We are excited to implement a virtual nursing program designed to enhance patient care efficiency. This initiative allows bedside nurses to concentrate on direct patient interactions while virtual nurses assist with administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate admission and discharge processes to enhance patient flow.
  • Evaluate the quality of care provided and collaborate with management to implement improvements.
  • Encourage a patient-centered philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of nursing staff.
  • Manage staff scheduling and inventory control to meet patient care needs efficiently.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and hold a current registered nurse license. A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required, with a preference for candidates holding advanced nursing degrees or certifications.
